This symbol was found on the gravestone of Murray Monroe Williams and two of his children. Monroe was married to Elizabeth Little on I Aug 1886 in Jefferson County, AR. They had eight children before his death.
Using other symbols on the stone, we also note that Monroe was a member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen, the first fraternal benefit society that offered insurance to its members, including sickness, accident, death and burial policies. The 1900 census says Monroe was a machinist.
